As of May 2021, Indian guidelines do not approve vaccines for pregnant women. So taking the vaccine is not advisable during pregnancy. But the vaccine per se doesn’t affect pregnancy, which means it is safe to continue with the pregnancy after taking the first or second dose of vaccines.

Breastfeeding women and Vaccination

Latest Government guidelines approve vaccination for Breast-feeding Moms • Opt for either Covishield or Covaxin • Report at the first symptom of any flu like illness • Nutritious diet is a must • If you are Covid infected already, delay vaccination for 12 weeks • Wear tight fitting masks and follow proper hand hygiene before feeding the child • The ideal thing would be to keep your baby in a separate room or at least at a 6 feet distance in the same room.

Do you need a Doctor Consultation?

Covishield or Covaxin?

Both the Vaccines are approved and announced as safe to take. So make sure that you take any one of these vaccines for sure and stick with the same for second dose. If you’ve taken Covishield as your first dose, take the second dose only with Covishield and likewise with Covaxin.
