PCOS is a hormonal disorder mostly found in women of childbearing age. This happens when the ovary releases the hormone, ‘Androgen’ in huge amount, which is usually present in small amounts in female body. This inhibits the proper functioning of the ovary and disturbs the menstrual cycle.
And don’t be fooled by the name of the disorder as the women affected by it may or may not have cysts. There is no proven cause for PCOS
Sugar Kiss : When the insulin level is high, the androgen level gets higher and we all know that is not good news.
Sin of Gene : PCOS can be inherited, it is hereditary and you may be on the PCOS path if your sister or mother has the disorder.
Art of Indulgence : Obesity has its way with PCOS and it’s not something you would want to experience. In clinical term, obesity stimulates insulin.
Irregular period
Infertility
Excess body hair
Weight gain
Ovaries with cysts
Let me break it to you right here, PCOS can’t be cured by these treatments. But it can keep the symptoms and the impact to a minimum.
Treatments vary between women who want to get pregnant and who don’t. And yes, you can get pregnant with PCOS. It is not easy but it’s very much possible.
You can tread through the path to motherhood by making few changes in your DIET and EXERCISE routine. Eating healthy and including more physical activities to your daily life will help you lose the PCOS weight, lower insulin secretion, lower glucose level which will ensure ovulation.
Ovulation can also be induced by using doctor prescribed MEDICATIONS.
You have the freedom to take medications to maintain a healthy life looking pretty.
BIRTH CONTROL PILLS regulate menstrual cycle, control Androgen secretion and clear acne.
DIABETES MDICATION lowers insulin levels and eventually Androgen level with added bonus of slowly curbing excess body hair growth.
DIET and EXERCISE as discussed earlier can go a long way.
You can also choose medicines for other symptoms like acne, excess body hair growth and thinning hair without worrying about the impact of it on your conceiving
